Cornell is one of the top universities in the country and located in upstate NY in Ithaca, one hour southwest of Syracuse.
Founded in 1865 by Ezra Cornell and Andrew
Dickson White, Cornell is a member of the prestigious Ivy League.
It is a unique university featuring a blend of four private and
three public-supported colleges. As New York's land-grant university,
Cornell has state supported undergraduate schools in: Agriculture
& Life Sciences, Human Economics, Industrial & Labor
Relations. The four private colleges are: Architecture &
Planning, Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Hotel Management.
The Ithaca campus is made up of 628 buildings on over 2,000 acres.
Tuition at Cornell's private colleges for 2015-16 is $49,116 per year. At the publicly-supported colleges, tuition is $32,976 per year for NY state residents and $49,116 for out-of-state-residents. Including personal expenses, dining and housing, costs can reach $65,494 per year to attend.
